This Privacy Policy explains how Savvy Spiral LLC, doing business as The Atlas Scribe (“The Atlas Scribe,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains Personal Information when you:

  • visit theatlasscribe.com (the “Website”);

  • purchase or receive a product or service;

  • use an Atlas Scribe form, workshop, licensed offering, or AI-assisted service;

  • contact us; or

  • otherwise interact with The Atlas Scribe.

For purposes of this Policy, “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to an identifiable individual. It does not include information that applicable law treats as anonymous, de-identified, or publicly available.

Savvy Spiral LLC is responsible for the Personal Information covered by this Policy except where another organization independently determines how it processes information under its own privacy policy.

By using the Website, products, or services, you acknowledge the practices described here. Where consent is required by law, we will request it separately.

1. Our Privacy Approach

The Atlas Scribe follows a data-minimization approach. We seek to collect and use only the Personal Information reasonably necessary to:

  • operate the Website and business;

  • process and fulfill purchases;

  • provide products and services you request;

  • administer professional licenses;

  • respond to questions and support requests;

  • communicate with you;

  • maintain security and prevent fraud;

  • comply with legal obligations; and

  • perform other activities described in this Policy or presented to you when information is collected.

We do not ask you to provide information that is unnecessary for the applicable transaction, service, form, or communication.

2. Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with The Atlas Scribe.

Website and device information

When you use the Website, Shopify and other configured Website technologies may automatically collect information such as:

  • IP address;

  • browser and device type;

  • operating system;

  • approximate location derived from IP address;

  • time zone and language;

  • cookie and similar-technology identifiers;

  • pages, products, and links viewed;

  • referring pages or sources;

  • search terms;

  • dates, times, and duration of visits;

  • shopping-cart and checkout activity; and

  • interactions with the Website.

We use this information to operate and secure the Website, remember settings, understand Website performance, prevent fraud, and—subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights—measure or personalize marketing.

Order and transaction information

When you make a purchase, Shopify and the payment method you choose process information needed to complete the transaction. Information available to The Atlas Scribe may include:

  • name;

  • email address;

  • telephone number;

  • billing and shipping addresses;

  • products or services ordered;

  • order number;

  • transaction status;

  • payment method type and limited payment details supplied by the processor;

  • tax and shipping information; and

  • correspondence concerning the order.

The Atlas Scribe does not independently receive or store complete payment-card numbers. Payments are processed through Shopify and the payment provider selected at checkout.

We use order information to process and fulfill purchases, provide confirmations and receipts, communicate about the order, prevent fraud, maintain accounting and tax records, and provide support.

Customer account and access information

Where Shopify customer-account, login, purchase-access, or similar features are available, Shopify may process:

  • login and authentication information;

  • account contact details;

  • order history;

  • saved preferences;

  • access entitlements; and

  • security and session information.

We use this information to provide account or product access, authenticate users, support purchases, and protect accounts and systems.

Customer service and communication information

When you contact us, we may collect:

  • your name and contact information;

  • the content of your message;

  • order or service information relevant to your request;

  • attachments you choose to provide; and

  • our communications with you.

We use this information to respond, provide support, resolve problems, maintain appropriate business records, and protect our rights.

Service-request content

Some Atlas Scribe products and services ask you to provide written responses, documents, descriptions, or other information so that we can perform the requested service (“Service-Request Content”).

We use Service-Request Content only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the requested product or service;

  • communicate with you about it;

  • maintain, troubleshoot, or correct that specific service;

  • protect our systems and legal rights; and

  • comply with legal obligations.

Ordinary Service-Request Content is not automatically treated as an Atlas submission, research contribution, testimonial, publication permission, or general product-development contribution.

AI-assisted service information

If you request an AI-assisted service, we may process:

  • the Service-Request Content you voluntarily provide;

  • limited instructions necessary to perform the analysis; and

  • an order number or other transaction reference needed to connect the output to your request.

We do not intentionally provide your payment information, billing address, shipping address, or unrelated order information to an AI provider for analysis.

Direct identifiers are not intentionally included in material sent for AI-assisted analysis unless:

  • you include them in the content you submit;

  • they are reasonably necessary to perform the requested service; or

  • you separately authorize their use.

Third-party AI providers process information on our behalf only as necessary to support the service we requested from them, subject to their applicable contractual terms, configurations, and privacy and security practices.

Atlas, research, and feedback submissions

The Atlas Scribe may provide a specifically designated form through which you can voluntarily submit observations, feedback, research information, stories, quotations, or other material for possible use in:

  • The Atlas;

  • research and analysis;

  • development or refinement of methodologies and frameworks;

  • publications;

  • examples or case studies; or

  • other purposes specifically disclosed with the form.

Information submitted through such a form is governed by the notices, permissions, attribution choices, and additional terms presented with that form.

We do not use ordinary order information, support communications, or Service-Request Content for those broader purposes merely because you purchased or used a product or service.

Submitting information through a designated form does not guarantee that it will be used, quoted, attributed, published, or included in any particular work.

Professional-license information

If you apply for, purchase, hold, renew, or previously held an Atlas Scribe professional license, we may collect:

  • name and contact information;

  • business or professional information;

  • application and agreement records;

  • license type, status, term, and renewal history;

  • payment and transaction records;

  • authorized public profile or directory information;

  • communications concerning the license;

  • compliance, complaint, or enforcement records; and

  • information reasonably necessary to administer the license.

We use this information to evaluate and administer licensing, provide licensee materials and access, maintain accurate licensing records, operate any licensee directory, communicate about renewal or compliance, and protect Atlas Scribe intellectual property.

Information will appear in a public licensee directory only as disclosed in the applicable licensing process or with appropriate authorization.

Marketing information

If you subscribe to marketing or request updates, we may collect your name, email address, communication preferences, and information about engagement with our messages.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in the message or by contacting us. We may still send non-promotional communications concerning purchases, services, security, or licenses.

3. Sources of Personal Information

We may collect Personal Information:

  • directly from you;

  • automatically from your browser or device;

  • from Shopify and providers involved in a transaction or requested service;

  • from fulfillment, shipping, payment, analytics, security, and communication providers;

  • from a professional-license applicant or licensee;

  • from another person when they are lawfully authorized to provide it; and

  • from publicly available sources where appropriate and lawful.

4. How We Use Personal Information

We may use Personal Information to:

  • operate, maintain, and secure the Website;

  • provide and improve the specific products and services you request;

  • process orders, payments, shipping, and fulfillment;

  • authenticate access and administer purchases;

  • provide customer support;

  • communicate about transactions, services, policies, security, and licenses;

  • administer professional licenses and authorized directories;

  • detect and prevent fraud, abuse, infringement, and security incidents;

We do not use Personal Information for materially different purposes without providing any notice or consent required by applicable law.

5. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose Personal Information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

Shopify

Shopify provides the Website’s ecommerce platform and may process Website, device, account, order, checkout, analytics, fraud-prevention, and related information. Shopify’s processing is also governed by its own privacy materials and the services and settings configured for the store.

Payment providers

Payments are handled through Shopify and the payment method selected at checkout. Payment providers process payment and fraud-prevention information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Fulfillment and shipping providers

We may disclose order and shipping information to Printful, shipping carriers, and other fulfillment providers selected or required to produce and deliver your order.

Service providers

We may use providers that support:

  • Website hosting and security;

  • customer communications;

  • document or content delivery;

  • analytics;

  • forms;

  • data storage;

  • professional-license administration;

  • technical support; and

  • other business operations.

They receive only information reasonably necessary for the service they provide.

AI service providers

When you request an AI-assisted service, we may disclose the relevant Service-Request Content, necessary instructions, and a transaction reference to an AI provider supporting that service. We do not provide AI providers with unrelated order information for analytical processing.

Advertising and analytics services

Subject to our Shopify settings, your consent where required, and your privacy choices, Shopify or other configured services may process Website activity to measure advertising, understand audiences, or provide targeted advertising.

Some laws describe particular advertising disclosures as a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for “targeted advertising,” even when no money is exchanged for Personal Information. You may use the Your Privacy Choices or data-sharing opt-out link in the Website footer to exercise available opt-out rights.

Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or other lawful process;

  • respond to authorized government requests;

  • prevent fraud, security threats, unlawful conduct, or harm;

  • enforce agreements and protect intellectual property; or

  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Business transfers

Information may be disclosed as part of a proposed or completed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate protections and applicable law.

At your direction

We may disclose information when you request or authorize us to do so, including attribution or publication authorized through an Atlas, research, feedback, testimonial, or similar form.

6. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

The Atlas Scribe does not sell Personal Information for money.

Depending on the technologies and Shopify services active on the Website, certain disclosures for analytics or interest-based advertising may be treated under applicable law as:

  • a sale of Personal Information;

  • sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising; or

  • processing for targeted advertising.

Where applicable, you may opt out using the Your Privacy Choices or data-sharing opt-out link in the Website footer. Shopify’s automatic privacy controls may also process recognized browser-based universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, in applicable regions.

We do not knowingly sell or share the Personal Information of individuals under sixteen years of age.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Website uses cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • operate the storefront and checkout;

  • remember selections and privacy choices;

  • maintain security and prevent fraud;

  • provide account or product access;

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Where required by applicable law and supported through our configured Shopify privacy controls, we recognize qualifying universal opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, as requests to opt out of covered sales, sharing, or targeted advertising.

Global Privacy Control is different from the older “Do Not Track” browser signal. Because there is no consistent legal or technical standard requiring a particular response to Do Not Track, the Website may not respond to that signal unless applicable law requires otherwise.

8. Lawful Bases for Processing in the EEA and UK

If European Economic Area or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, we process Personal Information under one or more of these lawful bases:

  • Contract: processing necessary to provide a product or service you requested or to take steps at your request before entering a contract;

  • Legitimate interests: operating and securing the business, preventing fraud, providing support, protecting rights, and understanding service performance, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;

  • Consent: where we ask for consent, including for certain cookies, marketing, attribution, publication, or optional submissions; and

  • Legal obligation: processing required to comply with applicable law.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent for future processing. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.

9. Data Retention

We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to:

  • provide products, services, and access;

  • administer professional licenses;

  • maintain transaction, tax, accounting, and legal records;

  • resolve disputes and provide support;

  • prevent fraud and security incidents;

  • enforce agreements and intellectual property rights; and

  • comply with law.

Retention periods vary by information type, transaction, legal obligation, and operational need.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, destroy, or de-identify it. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten or deleted through ordinary system processes.

A request to delete information may be limited where retention is required or permitted for transactions, taxes, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal claims, licensing records, or other lawful purposes.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the Personal Information we handle.

No internet transmission, storage system, platform, or security measure can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting any login credentials, download links, and devices you use to access our offerings.

11. International Processing

The Atlas Scribe and its providers may process Personal Information in the United States and other countries where Shopify, payment providers, fulfillment providers, AI providers, and other service providers operate.

Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we or the relevant provider will use an approved legal mechanism or other required protection.

We do not claim that all Personal Information is first processed in, or routed through, a particular country because processing locations depend on the providers, services, and infrastructure involved.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • know whether we process your Personal Information;

  • request access to Personal Information we hold about you;

  • request correction of inaccurate information;

  • request deletion;

  • obtain a portable copy of certain information;

  • opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling;

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;

  • restrict or object to certain processing; and

  • appeal our response to a privacy request.

These rights are not absolute. Applicable law may permit or require us to verify your identity, deny a request, limit a request, or retain particular information.

To submit a request, email policy@theatlasscribe.com and describe the right you wish to exercise. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and locate relevant records.

You may use an authorized agent where applicable law permits. We may require evidence of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Colorado residents

Where the Colorado Privacy Act applies, Colorado residents may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain certain Personal Information and to opt out of covered sales, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling.

You may exercise applicable opt-out rights through the Your Privacy Choices link in the Website footer or a recognized universal opt-out signal. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing policy@theatlasscribe.com with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line.

California residents

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete certain Personal Information; receive information about covered collection and disclosure practices; and opt out of covered sale or sharing.

EEA and UK residents

Where applicable, residents of the EEA or United Kingdom may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.

You may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work or where you believe a violation occurred.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Website and our products and services are not directed to individuals under eighteen years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children.

If you believe a child has provided Personal Information to The Atlas Scribe, contact us so we can evaluate and take appropriate action.

The Website may link to third-party websites, platforms, or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this Policy.
